The official representative body of medical students of the University of Ilorin. We are a vibrant community promoting academic excellence, professional development, leadership, and the overall welfare of our members while fostering unity and service within and beyond the university community.

To empower ILUMSites through capacity-building programmes, advocacy, and community-supporting, leading the development of skilled, compassionate, and innovative medical students leading the next frontiers of national and global health care delivery.
To be a community where every medical student has the support, resources, and opportunities needed to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

The Ilorin University Medical Students’ Association (ILUMSA), representing over 1,800 medical students of the University of Ilorin's College of Health Sciences, was founded in 1978 by Dr. Agodichi Owusu and Dr. Abiose Adedoyin. ILUMSA aims to foster academic excellence, leadership, and community service, aligning with the Nigerian Medical Students’ Association (NiMSA). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, it gained recognition for its academic programs and community outreach, highlighted by the Annual Health Week. By the 2000s, ILUMSA had evolved further, cultivating influential student leaders and engaging in national health advocacy. A significant achievement occurred in 2023 with the commissioning of the ILUMSA Secretariat.
